2012 BCBR Bike and Boat

Last week I hooked up with the BC Bike Race boys for a first ever bike and boat in BC’s Gulf Islands. We Launched in Kates Park, North Vancouver enroute to Pender Harbour but were plagued with mechanicals and limped into Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast and thats is where our rental boat stayed. From here we pushed on with 5 guys, a 17 ft run about on a trailer. We hit 4 Islands including Nelson, Cortez, Quadra, and Honby in 5 days. Our ambitious and aggressive schedule kept us pinned on our bikes and on the water. I had my camera out the whole time and am working on the video right now. Until then here are some photos I snapped amongst shooting video. Enjoy. Keep posted for the video.

Spring conditions are some of my favorite so I took a lunch time ride up Mt. Fromme with Scott Pilecki and ended up meeting up with Jeff Hunter. We grabbed some casual shots on our way down.

Yesterday Brad holmes and I continued our epic ride theme and went out for another on Fromme. It was wet and misting, perfect conditions to go for the infamous “Riga Sauce”.

First Pemberton ride of 2012

Pemberton is a mountain bike mecca and will change your perecption on XC/AM riding in a heartbeat. There is a great riding scene and a even better trail network that is well maintained and loved. This weekend we rallied the boys from the “bowl” to go for an epic pedal on Saturday. We logged about 30km of some of the best singletrack I have ever ridden. I decided to leave the motion picture gear behind in favor for some stills. Despite the crushing pace everything about this weekend was casual – I decided to have some fun with the photos and even more in post. Enjoy.

Jamaica Fat Tyre Festival 2012

This year I had the opportunity to travel and document the Fat Tyre Festival in Jamaica as part of the BC Bike Race. For one week we traveled around the island of Jamaica exploring on our mountain bikes with great people, food, and weather.
